Meet Parisha!

Parisha Simmonds is a passionate and empathetic counselor who works with children, teens, young adults, adults, and families. She partners with clients to help them rebuild trust, strengthen relationships, and navigate the ups and downs of life with confidence and resilience.

Parisha earned her Master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Albany State University, where she developed a strong foundation in supporting individuals from diverse backgrounds. Her career path grew out of her deep belief that healing happens when people feel safe, seen, and supported.

She has dedicated her work to helping clients move through challenges such as anxiety, stress, low self-esteem, and transitions that can leave people feeling stuck or overwhelmed. She has a strong background in supporting individuals struggling with addiction, those questioning their substance use, and those working hard to maintain recovery. She is also experienced in guiding families through court-ordered or voluntary reunification therapy, where rebuilding trust and connection becomes central to the healing process.

Parents often reach out to Parisha when they notice their child:

  • Struggling with emotional regulation (frequent irritability, meltdowns, or crying spells)
  • Showing low confidence or negative self-talk
  • Pulling away from friends or activities they once enjoyed
  • Having trouble with focus, motivation, or adjusting to change
  • Experiencing mood swings, sleep difficulties, or burnout

Teens and young adults often come to her when they feel:

  • Overwhelmed or stuck with school, friendships, or career choices
  • Unsure of their identity, self-worth, or direction
  • Weighed down by stress, anxiety, or relationship challenges
  • Ready to build confidence and healthier coping skills

Adults and parents seek her support for:

  • Work stress, burnout, and career transitions
  • Grief and loss
  • Parenting challenges and relationship changes
  • Rebuilding identity and stability during major life shifts

Her therapeutic style blends Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and a person-centered approach. This allows her to meet clients where they are, whether that’s a child who can’t quite manage their emotions, a teen struggling with confidence, or an adult working to rebuild stability during a season of change.

At the core of her philosophy is the belief that every person is capable of growth and healing. Parisha sees her role as walking alongside her clients, challenging, encouraging, and equipping them to find confidence, connection, and clarity for the future.

A Few Words From Parisha:

Hi, I’m Parisha! My philosophy of counseling begins and ends with empathy and compassion. I entered this field because I have an authentic listening heart that desires to see people live as whole, healthy individuals. I see counseling as a pathway for growth and healing, offering clients the opportunity to explore their thoughts and feelings in a safe environment. By building a healthy therapeutic relationship, I guide clients in discovering more about themselves, their patterns of behavior, and their core beliefs. This process encourages the establishment of new, healthy patterns of behavior.
