Adolescent Therapy

The teenage years are full of growth and transitions and having a therapist to help during these times can be extremely beneficial. At Rise Therapy Center, it is imperative that our teens want to come to their therapy sessions. It is our goal for them to enjoy and appreciate having a calm, safe, confidential space to think, reflect, and even listen. The therapeutic relationship between your teen and his or her therapist will be carefully and respectfully fostered, so that the therapy may serve as an anchor during turbulent times. Our emphasis will be on supporting your young person in acquiring and practicing new skills in order to gain a sense of control over themselves and their environment.

Here are some things to look out for that may indicate your teen could benefit from therapy:

  • Harming or threatening to harm self or others
  • Bullying
  • Damaging or destroying property
  • Lying or stealing
  • Consistent decline in school performance or skipping school
  • Early smoking, drinking, drug use
  • Sexually acting out or promiscuity
  • Frequent or explosive tantrums or arguments
  • Consistent hostility towards figures of authority
  • Lack of motivation
  • Loss of interest in extracurricular activities
  • Isolation or withdrawal
  • Excessive crying or sleeping
  • Weight gain or loss

Our Teen Therapists:

“It all begins with an idea. Maybe you want to launch a business. Maybe you want to turn a hobby into something more. Or maybe you have a creative project to share with the world. Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.”
