Friday, April 3, 2026
Friday, July 31, 2026
Summary:
This course explores the overlap between anxiety and narcissistic tendencies, particularly in individuals who exhibit heightened self-consciousness, fear of judgment, and a belief that their actions have disproportionate consequences on others or the world. The training will cover theoretical perspectives, clinical manifestations, assessment strategies, and evidence-based interventions.
Objectives:
By the end of this workshop:
- Therapists will define common anxiety traits of self-focus and differentiate the common trait from pathological narcissism by defining and distinguishing narcissistic traits, narcissistic personality disorder (NPD), and anxiety symptoms.
- Therapists will assess how self-consciousness, perfectionism, overthinking, and social anxiety can resemble narcissistic tendencies, exploring cognitive distortions and early attachment influences.
- Therapists will identify key clinical presentations, and apply CBT, mindfulness, and psychodynamic techniques to help clients challenge distorted self-focus, reduce personalization, and develop healthier self-esteem.
This course has been approved for 3 Core CE Hours through LPCGA.
Details of access to be emailed after order is confirmed.
