Presented by Madison Reed, LPC, NCC
Time: 10am-3pm
Friday, August 21, 2026
This 5-hour continuing education (CE) course is designed for therapists who want to move beyond one-size-fits-all approaches to child and adolescent therapy. Participants will learn how to assess developmental readiness, emotional literacy, and family dynamics in order to design interventions that are engaging, evidence-informed, and tailored to each client’s stage of growth.
Through a blend of theory, case discussion, and creative application, therapists will deepen their understanding of child and adolescent development and learn practical strategies for intervention design. Emphasis will be placed on using play, expressive modalities, and relational repair to meet children where they are—while empowering therapists to craft original, flexible activities that honor each client’s unique developmental and emotional landscape.
By the end of this workshop:
Therapists will define developmentally appropriate practice and identify cognitive, emotional, and relational characteristics across childhood and adolescence.
Therapists will identify the clinical rationale behind developmentally specific interventions and describe how developmental stage informs intervention choice.
Therapists will examine the role of parental involvement in treatment planning and execution.
Therapists will develop strategies for designing and adapting interventions that are creative, ethical, and developmentally aligned.
Therapists will create and present an original intervention using principles of developmental fit, emotional literacy, and therapeutic intention.
This course will be approved for 5 Core CE Hours through LPCGA.
Details of access to be emailed after order is confirmed.
