Meet Catherine Gouge LPC, NCC

Licensed Professional Counselor

National Certified Counselor

I attended the University of North Georgia both as an undergraduate and a graduate student, where I earned a Bachelors of Science in Psychology and a Masters of Science in Counseling. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor as well as a National Certified Counselor. I work with adolescents, teenagers, and adults struggling with anxiety, depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, addiction, emotional regulation, and life transitions such as divorce, break-ups, loss, and grief.

I utilize theoretical techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Rational Emotive Behavior therapy, but I adjust my treatment style and approach to fit the person in front of me and to address their unique needs. I work to balance providing practical tools for my clients to implement into their lives with creating a space in which they can feel heard and seen and process their experiences.

If I could live at an amusement park like Disney World and Universal Studios, I probably would. I just love feeling like a kid again and having fun. My husband and I are usually trying a new restaurant or taking our pup for a walk when I’m not at work.

A Few Words From Catherine

My desire is for my clients to leave feeling understood, encouraged, and empowered. As a therapist, I feel my role is to meet clients where they are and help them accomplish their own goals for therapy. I believe each person can do this when they are provided a safe and warm setting to do so. I view the client-therapist relationship as being an important part of the therapeutic process for this reason and prioritize it in session.

“He who has a why to live can bear almost any how.”

FEES:

INDIVIDUAL FEE: $150 / 50-MINUTE SESSION

Rise Therapy Center is an Out of Network provider, with many insurance companies which means that we do not bill insurance companies directly. Your counseling services may be eligible for reimbursement through out-of-network benefits, medical spending (FSA's) or health care savings accounts (HSA's). Health insurance plans and benefits vary. If you are interested in using your health insurance, please call your insurance provider to inquire about reimbursement for out-of-network counseling services.

Our Client Coordinator, Lindsay, will provide you with a document on request called a "superbill" which is like an invoice but contains the service codes, dates of treatment, and monies paid during therapy. You would submit this to your plan directly and your plan would reimburse you directly as well.

HOW ARE MY RECORDS STORED?

We utilize a HIPAA compliant, encrypted, electronic medical record called Therapy Appointments that holds all of my client's mental health records safely in it. You will get a link to a client portal where you fill in demographic information and can access documents like invoices and superbills on your own.

DO YOU HAVE A CANCELATION POLICY?

I have a 24- business hour cancelation policy You will be responsible for an entire session fee of 150 if the change is made in less than 24 business hours' notice. Exceptions may be made for emergencies such as sudden illness or accident, at my discretion. It should be noted that insurance does not reimburse for canceled sessions and HSA and FSA cards can't be used in these cases.
