Time: 9am-12pm

This 3-hour synchronous CE training explores the clinical overlap between attachment trauma, PTSD, CPTSD, and neurodivergence in children and adolescents. Participants will examine how developmental trauma can mimic, mask, or intensify neurodivergent traits, including sensory sensitivity, emotional dysregulation, social difficulties, executive functioning challenges, dissociation, avoidance, and behavioral escalation. Emphasis will be placed on ethical differential assessment, avoiding misdiagnosis/pathologizing, and selecting developmentally appropriate, trauma-informed, neurodiversity-affirming treatment protocols.
By the end of this training, participants will be able to:
Differentiate and conceptualize overlapping and distinct features of attachment trauma, PTSD, CPTSD, and neurodivergence in childhood, including how early trauma can mimic, mask, or exacerbate neurodivergent presentations.
Apply ethical standards to avoid misdiagnosis or pathologizing, and determine when consultation or interdisciplinary referral is clinically indicated.
Develop developmentally appropriate and individualized treatment plans based on clinical presentation rather than diagnosis alone.
This course will be approved for 3 Core CE Hours through LPCGA.
Details of access to be emailed after order is confirmed.
