Beardie is our resident bearded dragon. She was adopted as a class pet when Rise had a therapeutic school and has been at Rise Therapy Center for four years and counting. She is really chill (and not just because she's cold-blooded!) and enjoys hanging out on shoulders or in the sun. She eats leafy greens, mealworms, and crickets.

Our therapists sometimes utilize Beardie with clients to work on self-regulation, gentle touch, or to help clients feel more comfortable. Visiting Beardie and giving her treats is also a great motivator and reward when a young client meets a goal.
